What is breathwork?
Breathwork means practices of deliberate control of breathing patterns. Depending on the speed and intensity of the breath, different amount of oxygen is supplied and the body adjusts to the rhytm of the breathing.

When is breathwork used?
Breathwork is usually done for improvement of the mental wellbeing, mindfullness training, or therapeutic purposes. Breathwork therapy, if applied correctly, can be used to adress issues such as stress, anxiety, trauma and grief. You can read about the usage of breathwork in the therapy in this article.
Is breathwork safe?
Breathwork is generally considered safe if done with a skilled practitioner. One major concern is that breathwork has been known to induce hyperventilation. Breathwork is not recommended for people with a history of aneurisms, cardiovascular problems, high blood pressure, vision problems, osteoporosis, or any recent physical injuries or surgeries. It is also not recommended for people who experience severe psychiatric symptoms or seizures or who take heavy medication.
